WOW something new is added.


Got me a new windscreen.
Just another eBay special. The aluminum ring needed a good polishing but the plexy was in perfect shape.


Jury is still out as to if I like the looks. I can say that the wind doesn't hit my chest anymore but now it is transferred to the bike. When passing trucks and 120mph+ it tends to push the bike over a little.

It's buffing wheel time.
If you look close, the upper and lower triples are sanded and polished. The bottom one was a breeze but the upper, ouch. It took 3 days to sand that puppy down. I did manage to get all the casting marks out and was able to get a mirror shin on it. Now when it goes down NEXT winter, chrome masters will get a bunch of stuff to chrome.

Now once I get the stage 7 I will be able to feed it all the air I want. This worked out well as a resent trip to Vegas showed me just how a little altitude can make the max run funny. The system I put in, in order to make this bike run right until I get the 7 allowed me to open the filter so more air came in an Mr. Max stopped hesitating off the line.

Remember the bike won't run right with just the box and filter cut!!!
Untill I get the stage 7 I have to restricted the level of air coming in or the bike will lean way out and will not even idle right and forget about driving it. Just for giggles I tried to drive it this way and didn't make it out the driveway. Below is the solution to the problem.

Believe it or not this system is very handy. My buddy that was having nothing but problems with his stock max used this system to change and fine tune his airflow after drilling the exhaust to make it louder. Not sure why, but it really made a mess of his midrange and this little set up and some handy work from yours truly and 35,000 mile later it is still going strong. If I don't get some money soon to get that damn kit (hint, hint, honey) then I will be hitting 35,000 too. It is easy to move the lower tab down to allow more air in and up to shut it off. It is the same idea that dyno techs use when putting tap on a filter to see if more power can be made with a richer burn. It isn’t permanent but it works bitchen.
